Bed bugs

Choosing the right formulation

• EC and SC concentrates: mixed with water for perimeter and surface spraying.
• CS, MC and ME microencapsulated formulas: slower release and longer residual on walls and porous surfaces.
• Dusting powders: dry cracks, voids, electrical boxes and bed frames.

Rotate between chemical groups. Cypermethrin, deltamethrin and lambda-cyhalothrin are all pyrethroids, so switching between them is not true rotation; alternate with an imidacloprid product or a bait. In kitchens, pair sprays outside with gel baits from cockroach and insect control inside.

UAE tips for household insecticides

Spray early in the morning or after sunset. Surfaces in direct summer sun can pass 60°C, which shortens residual life, so focus on shaded spots where insects hide. Treat before the hot season, when cockroaches and ants move indoors, and check for termite mud tubes around irrigated beds and wooden fixtures each spring.
